London Nahi Jaunga and Quaide Azam Zindabad’s grand opening at the domestic box office and Overseas

-

Yesterday at Metro Live Exclusive, we told our readers how many shows have been given on the first day of eid to Pakistani and Hollywood movies, including Thor. Today we take a look at the first day’s box office figures.

On the first day of Eid compared to LNJG, Quaide Azam Zindabad, shows went much better but due to a large number of shows, London Nahi Jaunga tops the race. On the first day of Eid, the film had a total of 188 shows in 53 cinemas across the country. The total collections of the film were around Rs. 23 million (including Friday and Saturday special shows). The afternoon shows of this film did not get better but the evening shows had a much better score. The film has received mixed reviews and responses from audiences. The majority called the second half of the film slow.

Quaide Azam Zindabad is second with 170 shows in 52 cinemas. The film despite fewer shows crossed the figure of 20 million and managed to get a better opening with 21 million rupees (including Friday and Saturday special shows). Quaide Azam Zindabad is being hailed as better than Nabil Qureshi’s previous films Khel Khel Mein, and Load Wedding, but in the opinion of Cine Govers, this film is less powerful than NMA, NMA2, and Actor in Law.

The third Pakistani film of Eid, Lafangey, got very few shows. On the other hand, the low-intensity marketing of the film also came in the way, due to which the film started with 47 shows in only 26 cinemas on the first day and made a business of only Rs. 16 lakh on the first day of Eid.

Hollywood movie Thor: Love & Thunder managed to make a business of Rs. 14 million on the first day of Eid with 112 shows in 40 cinemas. Released two days before Eid, the film managed to garner more than Rs. 25 million nationwide despite not being screened in Rawalpindi and Islamabad cinemas due to censor issues. The three-day business of this film has reached more than Rs 65 million
