PM Shehbaz says Iran-US peace deal expected within 24 hours

-

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that a historic peace agreement is closer than ever. He hopes to finalize it within the next 24 hours.

In a statement on social media, the prime minister mentioned that Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the agreement. The next phase of talks will begin after finalizing the deal.

Shehbaz noted that the peace agreement is in its most advanced stage.

“We are much closer to the peace agreement than ever before,” he said, adding that the final version should be ready within 24 hours.

He pointed out that once the deal is finished, preparations for the official signing will start right away.

Pakistan is preparing for electronic signing. The prime minister shared that arrangements are being made for this process.

According to Shehbaz Sharif, the electronic signature will be part of the official procedure after completing and approving the final draft by all parties. He also mentioned that technical discussions will start next week after finalizing the agreement. These talks will focus on implementing the agreed framework and addressing the technical details related to the peace process.

PM thanks the US and Iran. The prime minister expressed appreciation to both the United States and Iran for their support during the negotiations. He emphasized that the progress made so far would not have been possible without their positive involvement.

“Thanks to the United States and Iran for their cooperation during the negotiations,” Shehbaz Sharif said.

The premier also thanked friendly and allied countries for their support with the peace initiative. He stressed that Pakistan appreciates their help in bringing the agreement closer to completion.

“I am sincerely thankful to the brotherly countries for their support for the peace agreement,” he stated.

Hope for lasting peace. PM Shehbaz believes the upcoming agreement will have a positive impact on regional stability. He is confident that this historic peace deal can lay a strong foundation for lasting peace and cooperation.

“I am sure this historic peace agreement will be a solid foundation for enduring peace,” the prime minister said.

Pakistan’s role in peace efforts. The prime minister’s comments show Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to promote dialogue and move the peace process forward. With the agreement nearing completion, focus now shifts to finalizing the text and starting the next round of technical negotiations.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also mentioned a possible memorandum of understanding with the United States to stop the ongoing war, which could be signed within a few days. However, he warned that nuclear discussions would only start after the interim deal is fully in place.

In an interview with Iran’s state-run IRIB TV on Friday night, Araghchi stated that the proposed MoU has not been signed yet and that changes to its terms are still possible.

He remarked that Iran had faced “two major wars in one year” and emerged stronger due to what he described as the extraordinary resilience of its people.

Iran insists there is no final decision yet on the US deal. Another senior Iranian official stated that no final decision has been made regarding a possible agreement with the United States, despite reports suggesting both sides are close to finalizing a deal aimed at ending months of conflict and paving the way for broader discussions.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei emphasized that the proposed memorandum of understanding (MoU) is still under review and noted that speculation about a completed agreement is premature.

Speaking on Friday, Baghaei mentioned that the text of the proposed understanding between Tehran and Washington is undergoing its final internal review.

“Regarding the text of the understanding, we are in the final stages of the internal review. A meeting of the relevant bodies is currently taking place,” he said.

Trump tells Netanyahu it’s time to end the war with Iran. Earlier, US President Donald Trump informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that it was time to end the war with Iran as Washington nears a potential agreement with Tehran, according to Axios.

A senior US official cited by Axios reported that Trump called Netanyahu on Thursday evening and referred to the possible US-Iran agreement as “a great deal.”

“This is the deal. It’s a great deal, and it’s time to end this war,” Trump told Netanyahu, according to the US official.

Netanyahu reportedly expressed concern that any agreement must address Iran’s nuclear program. However, he did not significantly argue with the US president.

“Bibi probably understood that a deal was about to happen and that he could not stop it,” the official said.
