Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Thursday said that he does not like what happened to Mohammed Ahmed on the set of a drama serial.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said: “What happened with Muhammad Ahmed, senior TV artist on the set of a drama serial, is not only condemnable but highly deplorable. I would like to offer a solution in the form of a mentorship programme for young TV artists headed by senior TV artists like Ahmed sahib or a council on the same format.”

Tarar added that he planned to hold a meeting with television artists to get their thoughts on the plan.
The minister mentioned that the idea was meant to push actors to guide younger performers and to create a more respectful and professional atmosphere in the country’s entertainment field.
Tarar’s comments were made a day after Mohammed Ahmed in a recent podcast shared a story about an event where he claimed a much younger lead actor made fun of him on the set.
Ahmed said the actor reminded everyone that he had once judged his acting skills and then told a producer he was “okay”. He also talked about a time when the actor took a fan from another cast member and pretended to style his hair while asking others to watch.
After videos that seemed to connect Fahad Sheikh to the situation appeared in the media on Wednesday, he said sorry to Ahmed, saying “half-baked stories” were being used to “set a narrative”.
Fahad also said he had already apologized to Ahmed before the issue started. “He is my senior, I am not ashamed to ask for his forgiveness publicly,” he said.
“And if Ahmed sahab thinks my personal apology was not enough for him, then I apologise to him on this platform as well. I hope you don’t keep any grudges against me because I would [never] think of insulting my seniors in any case,” wrote the actor.
