Imran Abbas’s Indian Punjabi film Jee Ve Sohneya Jee, banned in Pakistan

-

After a lot of backlash on social media, the screening of the Indian Punjabi film ‘Jee Ve Sohneya Jee’ has been banned across Pakistan. Before this, the Punjab film censors board faced severe criticism for allowing the movie to be screened in Punjab. The film had already been denied permission by the Central Film Censors Board and the Sindh Censors Board.

It should be noted that while Indian Bollywood movies have been banned from Pakistani cinemas for the past few years, Indian Punjabi films are still being released regularly, and there is no clear government policy on this matter. Some Punjabi films are being released under the guise of Indian Punjabi films, which go against the ideology and foundations of Pakistan.

‘Jee Ve Sohneya Jee’ was already released worldwide on friday, which turned into banned by way of the boards of sindh and islamabad as primarily based on country wide ideology and anti-islam, but the punjab censors board did not see anything like this within the film and the movie changed into allowed to be exhibited with out objection. Pakistani actor Imran Abbas has performed the lead role in ‘Jee Ve Sohneya Jee’.

The hero of the film is a Muslim, whose call is Ali Pervez, and a terrorist of the identical name is needed by the British police. This position is played by Imran Abbas. Ali Pervez is proven to belong to Faridkot, a town in the Okara district of Punjab. Faridkot got attention inside the global media when Indian propaganda showed Ajmal Kasab as a resident of this city.

The movie’s heroine Meher (Simi Chhal) is from Indian Punjab who by accident meets Pakistani boy Ali in London. Ali falls so deeply in love with her that he hides his Muslim and Pakistani identification from her and tells her that he is Sarabjit Singh.

In the film, an strive has been made to reveal that the Punjabis are the maximum laid low with the partition of the 2 countries, so by way of ending the border appropriation, the 2 countries, or at the least Punjab should turn out to be one. Humans who have not visible the film can sense these types of nuances by watching the trailer of the film.
In one scene of the film, Ali’s Indian friend Sarabjit Sabi tells him that after Kashmir, you have got your eyes on Chandigarh as well.
Many dialogues and scenes within the movie were declared objectionable and its exhibition has been banned across Pakistan. Several theaters in Punjab had already voluntarily refused to display the film.
