An Evening with Mahira Khan” was organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi in Auditorium I which was hosted by the famous writer and intellectual Anwar Maqsood. Mahira Khan and host Anwar Maqsood had a heart-to-heart conversation on Sunday at the Arts Council of Pakistan. The evening was full of witty exchanges on politics, The Legend of Maula Jatt, and the importance of financial independence for women in Pakistan. Welcoming Anwar Maqsood and actress Mahira Khan, President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmed Shah said that everyone knows Mahira Khan and Anwar Maqsood, it is a matter of happiness for us that today Mahira is among us, I would like to thank Fiza and Nabeel. Without whom this would not have been possible, Anwar Maqsood started the conversation by saying that whenever I have spoken to anyone, he was a politician or a soldier, but today is the first time I am speaking to an actress like this. I have written a lot for Tv actors including Uzma Geelani, Khaleda Riasat, Samina Ahmed, Sania Saeed, Rubina Ashraf, Bushra Ansari, and Badar Khalil, till now I have not written any plays for Mahira because since I stopped writing, Mahira Khan became famous.

I told Shoaib that I have just had a baby, and I got the answer that there is no problem, in our time, babies used to be on the set, then I, my mother, Abu, and my son Azlan went to Lahore. Mahira Khan said that scripts are too long these days, to which Anwar Maqsood said that when I wrote Sitara and Mehr un Nisa, there was no forced dialogue in it. Mahira Khan said if girls are not financially independent then they can’t do much. It was great to work in India. It was my dream to work with Shah Rukh Khan. Anwar Maqsood then asked that you and Shah Rukh Khan have What was the same except the nose, on which the whole hall echoed with applause, Mahira Khan laughingly said that many people told me to get nose surgery, I said never, what is the use of the nose is amputated.

She said that what I learned in life is to come on time and give my full time. I also produced the telefilm “Ek Hai Nigar”. I don’t produce for money. The story of General Nagar is the story of a courageous woman, she said that listening to old songs is my hobby, I like songs by Pakistani Sufi Kalam, Rafi, and Geeta Dutt, and I had two DVDs when I went to college. I had, on Geeta Dut`s “Piasa”and “Aangan Terha”. I tried very hard to speak good Punjabi in Mola Jat, Anwar Maqsood said, I watched your movie “Mola Jat” thrice in which Mola Jatt drinks a lot and becomes Fawad Khan while romancing, on social media. Some things have been said by me, but the rest are all lies, Mahira Khan expressed her desire and said that any politician should be honest, to which Anwar Maqsood said that an honest person can make everyone dishonest, 23 crores Population is, if the state becomes Madina, then 19 crore people will have their hands cut off.
