Pakistan and Türkiye want to do trade worth five billion US dollars together.
In a press briefing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan and Türkiye are committed to reaching this trade goal. He thanked the President of Türkiye for the welcome he got during his visit.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the people of Pakistan and Türkiye have an emotional connection. He remembered that Muslims from the subcontinent helped Türkiye during its War of Independence.
He said that Pakistan and Türkiye have been working together for a time and have always supported each other during difficult times.
He said that Türkiye helped Pakistan during wars, earthquakes and floods. For example Türkiye helped Pakistan in Muzaffargarh and other areas that were affected by floods.
He also appreciated the help that Türkiye gave to Pakistan for economic development after earthquakes.
He said that Pakistan and Türkiye are like “two hearts and one body”. He mentioned that the thoughts of Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi and Allama Muhammad Iqbal still inspire the relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the progress that Türkiye has made in areas.
He said that Pakistan values its friendship with Türkiye. He had meetings with Turkish business leaders to talk about how to improve trade between Pakistan and Türkiye.
He also talked about his discussions with President Erdoğan. Said that both countries are committed to doing five billion US dollars worth of trade.
He said that Pakistan supports Türkiyes position on Cyprus and thanked Türkiye for its stance, on the Kashmir issue.
PM Shehbaz Says Pakistan Secured Mediator Role with Erdogan’s Support
Meanwhile the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz said that Pakistan has got a mediation role because of the help from the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
He said Istanbul is a city that links Asia and Europe. Turkiye is seen as an faithful friend of Pakistan.
The relations, between Pakistan and Turkiye are based on years of working together and helping each other. This cooperation started a time ago during the Turkish War of Independence.
PM Says Muslims Across the Subcontinent Supported Turkiye’s Struggle
The prime minister said that the Muslims of the subcontinent, under the leadership of the Ali Brothers really supported Turkiyes struggle. Turkiye is a country that Pakistan cares about. The prime minister also talked about how Ankara, which is the capital of Turkiye helped Pakistan when Pakistan was going through times.
The prime minister, Shehbaz said that Pakistan tried hard to help the United States and Iran talk things through and come to an agreement. Pakistan did this with the best of intentions. It actually worked. The United States and Iran stopped fighting. The prime minister thinks that now is a time to try to make peace stronger and to work together better in the region. He said that Pakistan and other countries should use this chance to make things more peaceful and to cooperate more with each other. The prime minister is talking about Pakistan and its efforts to make peace in the region. He wants Pakistan to keep working towards this goal.
PM Says Pakistan Will Benefit from Turkiye’s Industrial Success
The President of Turkiye President Erdoğan has done a job in changing the way industry works in Turkiye. Now Islamabad wants to learn from Turkiyes experience in things like energy and making things private which is called privatisation. They also want to learn about transport systems and how to get things to people, which is called distribution networks and investing in energy that’s good for the earth, which is called renewable energy investment.
The leader of the country said that the connection between the two countries is not about politics it is like a family bond, which is very strong. He said that people are working hard to remove the things that stop trade and to increase the amount of money that is invested in each others countries, which is called investment flows, between Turkiye and the other country.
