Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy has confirmed that a Saudi Aramco building in Riyadh sustained minor damage following an attempted attack on Sunday.
No deaths or injuries were reported in the incident. According to the ministry, falling debris struck the building during the attack, causing damage to one floor.
A spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition stated that the Houthis had launched two ballistic missiles and a cruise missile towards Riyadh. However, Saudi air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed all three missiles before they could reach their intended targets.
The spokesperson further said that the cruise missile was brought down in the Southern Region, while one of the ballistic missiles was intercepted in the Eastern Region.
Precautionary alerts were also issued in Dammam, Dhahran, Abqaiq and Al-Hofuf over concerns about further attacks. Arab media outlets reported that the warnings were subsequently withdrawn in all four cities once the threat had passed.
