A committee with 10 members was formed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. This committee looked at the parts of the Pakistan Telecommunication Reorganization Amendment Bill that people are talking about at Parliament House. The Pakistan Peoples Party or PPP still does not agree with these parts. Wants them to be changed before the bill can move forward.
The committee is headed by Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar. They had a lot of discussions about the parts of the bill that people are complaining about.. The PPP still had problems with these parts during the meeting.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told the committee to give him their thoughts, on the bill in three days.
Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar said the government does not want to take over property or put up telecom towers without asking. He said they never planned to take over peoples homes or shops put wires in properties or put up towers on them without permission.

No Action Will Be Taken Without Owner’s Consent, Says Tarar
The law minister said some things after a meeting that was not open to the public. He wanted to make it clear that the new law will not affect peoples things or what they do in private. He said that they will not put up any towers on property and they will not do anything without asking the person who owns the property first.
The law minister, Tarar said they will add details to the law so people know what it really means. He wants to make sure people understand the law and do not worry about things that’re not true. Tarar wants to fix the problems that people have with the law. The law minister Tarar said they will do this to address the concerns that people have and to stop people from misunderstanding what the law is, about.
PPP Rejects Bill in Its Present Form
Before the meeting PPP Senator Sherry Rehman said that the PPP would not accept the bill without some changes. The PPP Senator Sherry Rehman made it very clear that the PPP would not agree to anything that’s not good for the people.
She said the PPP would not compromise on the protection of right of way and private property of the people.
The PPP Senator Sherry Rehman also said that the PPP wants a hearing, on the bill. The PPP Senator Sherry Rehman said that the PPP will not approve any legislation without talking about it in detail in the standing committee.
PPP Questions How the Bill Was Passed in the NA
Shahida Rahmani, who is a member of the National Assembly from the Pakistan Peoples Party thinks that someone should look into how a certain bill was passed by the National Assembly.
She does not like the people who were chosen for a committee that has ten members.
Shahida Rahmani said that the people who helped make the bill should not be on the committee that reviews it.
She said that the decisions made by the committee will not be fair if the people who made the bill are on the committee.
Shahida Rahmani also thinks that the committee should have members who care about what the general public thinks than people who have their own business interests.
Tarar thinks that it is normal for people to have objections to some parts of the bill.
He said that people are still talking about the bill and he hopes that everything will be okay by Tuesday.
Tarar said that all the problems, with the bill will be fixed by making the language of the bill.
Digital Growth Requires Strong Legislative Framework
The law minister said that we need laws to help develop technology and improve connections, in Pakistan.
He said that we must fix problems that are stopping the growth of computers, internet and smart machines. He added that doing this will help young people use technology and sell things to other countries.
The minister said that the goal of the law is to make things easier and improve connections not to hurt peoples rights.
Proposed Amendments Under Review
The federal law minister said that they are thinking about making some changes to the bill. This is because they want to make sure everyone understands it and they want to make it clear what the bill is really, about.
The federal law minister said that the bill will make sure peoples private property is safe. He also said that the government will listen to what the public has to say before they move forward with the bill.
The committee has to finish its work in three days. The prime minister told them to do this. The committee will then give its recommendations to the law minister and the government about the bill.
