AI-generated actors and writers ruled ineligible for Oscars

The people in charge of the Academy Awards made some rules on Friday. They want to make it clear that people have to do the acting and artificial intelligence to be eligible for the biggest awards in the movie industry.

These new rules from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences apply to the movies that will be considered for the Oscars ceremony, which is scheduled for March 2027.

People in the movie and TV business are worried about intelligence. They think that movie studios might use intelligence to replace people so they can save money. Year someone made a movie with an actress that was completely made by a computer her name was Tilly Norwood. The person who made the movie said that some big movie studios were interested in this kind of thing and that made a lot of actors very upset.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said that movie makers can use intelligence tools but they cannot use fake actors like Tilly Norwood. They also said that the people who write the stories, for the movies have to be people, not computers.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences can ask for information to make sure that the movies and stories were made by people, not artificial intelligence.
