Pakistani celebrities have voiced their support for Hina Javed’s family and called for justice following the young woman’s death in Rawalpindi on August 20. Authorities are treating the incident as an alleged murder and continuing their investigation.
Among those expressing solidarity with Hina and her family are actors Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Osman Khalid Butt, Iffat Omar and Samar Jafri. They have condemned violence against women and urged authorities to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation.
Hina, who got married in 2025, had been living at her in-laws’ residence. According to reports, she was discovered hanging from a wire noose attached to a bathroom shower. Her brother, Fahad, later filed a murder case against her husband, Asghar Imam, her father-in-law and a domestic worker.
The investigation is still underway, and the accusations against the named suspects have yet to be proven in court.
Mahira Khan reacted to the case on Instagram, questioning the circumstances surrounding Hina’s death and expressing support for Hina’s family.
“What kind of world is this? What kind of men are we raising?” Mahira Khan wrote in the comments of a post shared by a page dedicated to raising awareness about Hina’s case.
Mahira Khan also expressed support for Hina’s family, writing: “With you in any way you need. Cannot imagine Hina’s pain and loss.”

Hania Aamir and Samar Jafri reposted Instagram stories from the Justice for Hina page, which has recorded allegations from Hina’s family concerning the abuse she allegedly experienced at the hands of her husband and in-laws.
Posts shared by the page allege that Hina was subjected to physical violence, isolated from others, and confined to a separate room. However, these claims have not been independently verified.
Iffat Omar also used Instagram to urge Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to intervene and raise her voice against violence targeting women. “These women trusted the men meant to protect them, and it cost them their lives,” she wrote.
“You have the power that most of us calling for justice do not — use it, not as a politician, but as a woman who understands exactly what these women’s silence used to sound like,” she added.

Osman Khalid Butt called the reported circumstances surrounding Hina’s death deeply disturbing and raised concerns over whether the case would eventually lead to justice.
“The details of Hina Javed’s murder are horrifying. There has been outrage, arrests have been made, everyone is unified in the call for justice. But we’ve been here before,” he said.
He emphasised that Hina’s family should not be forced to spend years navigating and battling the legal system before receiving justice.
The increasing support from Pakistan’s entertainment community has drawn further public attention to Hina’s case as well as the broader problem of violence against women. While ongoing investigations and court proceedings will establish the facts and determine responsibility, Hina’s family and those supporting them continue to demand a transparent investigation and fair legal process.
