The National Disaster Management Authority has warned that the water levels in rivers across the country will go up significantly from today until 4 August.
The National Disaster Management Authority said this increase in water levels will lead to flooding in areas.
The National Disaster Management Authority has recorded water levels in River Lehri at Head Gogi.
The National Disaster Management Authority also reported water levels in Nullah Palkhu at Wazirabad.
Low water levels have been seen at Kalabagh, Chashma, Guddu and Sukkur along the Indus River.
The National Disaster Management Authority also found water levels at Head Nari on River Nari.
The National Disaster Management Authority expects the water to rise at Marala on the River Chenab.
The National Disaster Management Authority thinks the water levels will be low at Khanki and Qadirabad.
The National Disaster Management Authority also expects the water levels to be low to medium in the Jhelum, Ravi, Kabul and other rivers that are connected to them.
There is a chance that the water levels will be medium to high in rivers and streams of the Jhelum, Chenab and Ravi rivers.
The water levels in the Ravi and Sutlej rivers will depend on how much water’s released from Indian water reservoirs the National Disaster Management Authority said.
The National Disaster Management Authority warned that there is a risk of flooding in hill areas of Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur.
The National Disaster Management Authority also warned of flooding in streams and drains of central and southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan.
The National Disaster Management Authority said that cities like Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Mardan and Nowshera are, at risk of flooding.
Similar risks have been found in Hyderabad, Badin, Thatta and other lying cities of Sindh.
The National Disaster Management Authority has advised people to avoid traveling to areas that’re likely to be flooded unless it is necessary.
The National Disaster Management Authority wants people to be careful and stay safe during this time.
