On Saturday there is a ceremony. This is happening because Islamabad and Beijing are working together closely this year. They are working on defence, diplomacy and economic cooperation.
Islamabad and Beijing are getting closer because of a visit by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to China in May. During this visit the two countries decided to work even more. They want to make their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership even stronger. They also want to work more on defence and security. The countries want to speed up work on CPEC 2.0. Islamabad and Beijing also want to keep talking to each other about what’s happening in the region and, around the world.
They also confirmed their support for each others interests and promised better work together to fight terrorism and to keep Chinese people and projects in Pakistan safe.
At the start of this year in January Pakistan and China had the meeting of their Foreign Ministers Strategic Dialogue in Beijing. During that meeting both sides said they have no tolerance for terrorism. They agreed to improve security work. They also talked about making plans for development under CPEC 2.0. They also said they need to work closely to keep the region stable especially in Afghanistan.
Economic work has also expanded beyond building roads and buildings.
Since January the two countries have made agreements about investing in farming, improving animals working with minerals and sharing technology in the part of CPEC. Chinese companies have signed agreements with Pakistani partners, in farming and animals. Both sides have also worked to improve research building factories and training people.
