TikToker Mr Patlu Granted Protective Bail

-

The Islamabad High Court has approved protective bail for TikToker Mr Patlu, ordering him to appear before the concerned court by November 10. The court also directed that he must not be arrested before that date.

Mr Patlu, whose actual name is Ansar, attended the hearing in a wheelchair alongside his lawyer, Qasim Nawaz Abbasi. He kept his face covered with a cap and mask, while lawyers and associates helped carry him down the court stairs.

The protective bail was granted by Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar following a petition submitted by Mr Patlu through his counsel. A case against the TikToker has been registered in Sialkot.

His arrival at the Islamabad High Court attracted attention as he appeared unwell and was brought into the courtroom in a wheelchair.

Notably, only a few days earlier, Mr Patlu had been seen dancing at his own mehndi ceremony. In contrast, during his court appearance, lawyers and associates had to carry him down the stairs in their arms.

The court barred his arrest until November 10 and instructed him to appear before the concerned court on or before that date.

Lawyer Claims Mr Patlu Was Absent When Incident Took Place

Speaking to reporters, Qasim Nawaz Abbasi strongly denounced the incident and stressed the need for a transparent investigation to establish the facts.

He stated that his client, Mr Ansar, was not listed in the no-objection certificate (NOC) issued by the administration. According to the lawyer, all necessary legal formalities, permissions and regulations required to organise the event had been completed.

Abbasi said his client should not be held accountable if any conditions mentioned in the NOC had been breached. He further asserted that Ansar was not at the location when the incident took place.

The lawyer added that his client was undergoing hospital treatment for the injuries he had suffered.

Lawyer Holds Administration Responsible for Law and Order Situation

Abbasi stated that ensuring law and order fell primarily under the administration’s responsibility, but alleged that officials had failed to discharge their duties.

He accused the authorities of trying to place the blame for their shortcomings on his client and implicating him by misrepresenting the facts.

The lawyer insisted that the administration was responsible for the incident and described the action taken against Ansar as unjustified.

He called for a proper investigation to uncover the facts and strongly opposed any attempt to hold his client accountable for the incident.
