Pakistan’s forex reserves approach five-year high

Pakistan’s total foreign exchange reserves have reached $23.72 billion, marking a rise that brings them near their level in five years.

According to data from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) the reserves grew by $1.21 billion. This increase happened after the government received loans.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) holds $18.33 billion in foreign exchange reserves while banks hold $5.39 billion in foreign currency accounts.

Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves were previously around $24 billion in 2021.
