In a significant recognition of his contributions to the arts and cultural sector, Dr. Khalid Bin Shaheen has been nominated as a Member of the Academic Council of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law (SZABUL), Karachi, for a period of three years. The appointment has been made by the Government of Sindh under Section 26(1)(x) of the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law, Karachi Act, 2013.
The official notification, issued by the Universities & Boards Department, Government of Sindh, states that the nomination was approved by the Honourable Chief Minister of Sindh. Dr. Khalid Bin Shaheen has been nominated in the Arts category, reflecting his distinguished services and longstanding contributions to Pakistan’s cultural, media, and creative industries.
Alongside Dr. Khalid Bin Shaheen, Prof. Dr. Mashhood-uz-Zafar Farooq has been nominated in the Science category, while Advocate Mr. Ishtiaq Memon has been appointed under the Professions category. These appointments are intended to strengthen the Academic Council by bringing together experts from diverse professional backgrounds.

The Academic Council serves as one of the university’s highest academic decision-making bodies, playing a vital role in shaping academic standards, educational policies, curriculum development, and the overall quality of higher education at SZABUL.
