The United States has reportedly identified several potential targets for another round of military strikes against Iran, raising concerns about the possibility of a renewed and significant confrontation between the two nations.
According to The New York Times, President Donald Trump is reportedly considering another large-scale military operation against Iran. Meanwhile, Iranian authorities are said to believe that the United States and Israel could carry out a third round of attacks.
Reports indicate that the US Central Command has compiled a list of potential targets, including Iran’s energy infrastructure and facilities considered essential to the country’s economic stability.
American media outlets have also reported concerns that Iran might respond to any fresh military action by targeting US diplomats and high-ranking officials. Analysts cited in the reports warn that even a single attack involving an American official could escalate tensions into a broader military conflict.
The reports further suggest that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could potentially authorise one final military strike even if he were to lose an election.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi maintained that Tehran’s policies would remain unchanged regardless of whether another war erupted. He cautioned Washington against launching further attacks on Iran, pointing out that the United States had already struck the country twice and experienced the consequences of those actions.
Araghchi also emphasised that lasting peace and regional stability could only be achieved through peaceful coexistence among neighbouring countries without external intervention. He reaffirmed Iran’s willingness to cooperate with all nations in the region to promote mutual understanding and stability.
