Gold price drops Rs15,100 per tola in local market

Gold and silver prices dropped sharply in both local markets on Saturday. I watched gold fall by $151 per ounce, landing at $4,454 in the bullion market.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) the local market saw gold fall by Rs15,100 per tola to Rs467,936. The price of 10 grams of gold also slipped by Rs12,946 to Rs401,178.

Meanwhile, silver fell by Rs397 per tola, reaching Rs7,112. The price of 10 grams of silver also dropped by Rs340 to Rs6,096.

On Friday, gold prices stayed the same in the market as the APGJSA quoted 24‑karat gold at Rs483,036 per tola. The price of 10 grams of gold also stayed unchanged at Rs414,125.

On Thursday, gold fell by Rs3,500 per tola to Rs483,036 and by Rs3,001 per 10 grams to Rs414,125. Silver, however, rose by Rs50 per tola to Rs7,329 and by Rs43 per 10 grams to Rs6,283 according to APGJSA.

On Wednesday, the gold market closed because of the holiday for Eid Miladun-Nabi.

On Tuesday, the gold price per tola closed at Rs486,536 after falling by Rs600. Ten grams of gold were quoted at Rs417,126, down by Rs514 according to rates from APGJSA.

On Monday, APGJSA said the 24-carat gold price per tola hit Rs487,136 after rising by Rs4,200. Ten grams of gold were quoted at Rs417,640, up by Rs3,601.
