US–Iran Technical Negotiations to Restart Next Week, Pakistan Says

Pakistan says that the United States and Iran will have technical level talks again week. This will happen after they had their round of discussions in Bürgenstock, Switzerland. Pakistan is helping to make peace between the two countries and Qatar is also doing the thing.

The person who speaks for the Foreign Office, Tahir Hussain Andrabi said that many people around the world know that Pakistan is working hard to bring peace to the region. This shows that people trust Pakistan to do a job with diplomacy.

Tahir Hussain Andrabi had a meeting in Islamabad where he talked to people. He said that the second round of talks between Iran and the United States took place in Bürgenstock. He also said that Pakistan was part of these talks and Pakistan was represented by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Tahir Hussain Andrabi also said that the Islamabad MoU and the meeting, in Lucerne made Pakistan believe more that talking things out and using diplomacy are the best ways to solve problems peacefully. Pakistan thinks that Iran and the United States should keep talking to each other to find a solution.

Three Technical Working Groups Established

The Foreign Office says that they have made three special groups to work on the part of the process.

The first group is looking at Irans programme.

The second group is working on sanctions and the money that is frozen in accounts.

The third group is working on things related to Lebanon.

Pakistan and Qatar have people who will keep talking to the United States and Iran as they continue to discuss things.

Talks Put on Temporary Hold

Tahir Hussain Andrabi said that the Bürgenstock talks are still going on even though they have stopped for a while right now. He said that the US and Iran will start talking about things again next week.

The spokesperson said that the statement that the US and Iran made together after the Lake Lucerne meeting had some things in it and they are making progress on a few things, like lifting sanctions and opening the Strait of Hormuz again. The Bürgenstock talks and the US-Iran talks are really important. Tahir Hussain Andrabi is happy that the US and Iran are talking. The US and Iran are working on the Bürgenstock talks. They want to make sure that everything goes smoothly. The Strait of Hormuz is a deal and the US and Iran want to make sure it is open.

Blockade of Strait of Hormuz Lifted

The Foreign Office announced that the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is over. However the Strait of Hormuz talks are still going on to figure out what will happen to it in the end.

The spokesperson for Pakistan said that Pakistan wants things to stay the same with the Strait of Hormuz. Pakistan thinks the Strait of Hormuz is an important route for international trade.

He also said that they are talking about issues and Pakistan is still involved in the technical part of the process.

The spokesperson talked about the visit of the president to Pakistan. He said they discussed projects that Pakistan and Iran are working on together.. He made it clear that Pakistan and Iran can only make progress on these projects and on trade and on a special trade gateway if the United States and other countries lift their sanctions on Iran.

He said that things can start moving on these issues once the problems with the sanctions are solved. The Strait of Hormuz and the issues with the sanctions are very important to Pakistan. Pakistan wants to see the Strait of Hormuz remain open and the sanctions, on Iran lifted so that Pakistan and Iran can work together easily.

Iran’s Missile Program

The spokesperson answered a question. Said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif talked about Irans ballistic missile programme in a very clear and thoughtful way. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made some comments in Parliament about the situation in the region.

He explained that Irans missile programme is not part of the Islamabad agreement.

The Foreign Office is happy about the things that many countries and international partners are saying about Pakistans efforts to reduce tensions in the region.

The spokesperson said that people around the world trust Pakistan to bring peace. Pakistans media also did a job of supporting the people who are working for peace. Response to Remarks by Indian Leadership

The spokesperson from Pakistan talked about what India said. He said that the leaders of India always use language and this is normal for Pakistan. He said that Pakistan is looking at the future and does not want to respond to the things that India says.

When talking about Afghanistan the spokesperson said that Pakistan tried to be friends with Afghanistan from 2021 to 2025. He said that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar went to Afghanistan himself and they were able to solve some problems by talking to each other.

Then he said that it became impossible to find a peaceful solution when a lot of terrorist attacks started coming from Afghanistan.

The spokesperson said that Pakistan has not done anything to hurt the people of Afghanistan but it will keep protecting its people. He said that Pakistan needs to be sure that Afghanistan will not let its land be used for terrorism. Pakistan wants to be safe and needs promises, from Afghanistan that it will not help terrorists.

Pakistan and China Confront Shared Security Challenges

Andrabi said Pakistan knows China plays a role in keeping the region safe especially when it comes to Afghanistan. He said Pakistan and China work closely on Afghanistan issues and they will keep working together.

The spokesperson said both countries have problems because of Afghanistan. He added that Pakistan has to deal with terrorism from the TTP and China has to deal with a threat, from ETIM.

Pakistan Maintains Contact with Gulf Countries

The person who speaks for Pakistan also said that Pakistans position on the attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates is completely right. Pakistans position on these attacks is fully legal. He said that Pakistan has been talking to the leaders of Kuwait, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.

He also said that Pakistans person at the United Nations Nabil Munir was there for Pakistan during the talks on June 22.

Pakistans Foreign Office said that Pakistan will keep working to help bring peace to the region. The spokesperson said that Pakistans capital, Islamabad wants to talk things out and use diplomacy to calm things down. Islamabad thinks that talking and being diplomatic is the way to solve problems and make the region more stable. Pakistans position is that dialogue and diplomacy are key, to peace.
