‘Khel Khel Mein’ first day business report

Khel Khel Mein, was released on November 19 in cinemas across Pakistan. The release of the film in the Overseas Circuit was only possible in the UK. On the first day of release, the box office response to the film was less than expected. The main reason for this is the lack of emphasis on marketing and promotion of the film. The film was not properly advertised nor was it well promoted by a media partner (private channel). Even in the UK, the marketing and promotion of the film were not given much attention.

Trade pundits, including the film’s distributor, had hoped that the box office would not respond so well after the lockdown, but the film’s collection fell short. Trade analysts was claiming that the movie will make a weekend of at least Rs 15 million, But given the response from the first day, it seems difficult to meet this target now.

The film, directed by Nabil Qureshi and produced by Fiza Ali Meerza, covers the 1971 Pak-India war and the fall of Dhaka. The cast includes Sajjal Ali, Bilal Abbas, Manzar Sehbai, Javed Sheikh, Samina Ahmed, Farhan Ali Agha, Mojaz Hassan, Naveed Raza, Marina Khan, Laila Wasti, and Zahra Nawab.
On the first day of release, the film did only 400,000 businesses from Karachi and Hyderabad. While the total collection from all over Punjab was only Rs. 2.3 millions. Thus, the total business of the first day including Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta is around 3 millions.

Satuday’s show has not improved much, but the final business report for the second day will be updated tomorrow.
