The Pakistani soil is filled with stories of forgotten champions who lost their lives in the name of patriotism.
One such story is that of Aitzaz Hassan, a 16 year old boy who sacrificed his life on 6th January 2014 to avert a suicide bomb attempt at his school in Hangu.
His sacrifice and courage saved the life of 2,000 children who can now live and do great things for Pakistan.
On the first death anniversary of Aitzaz Hassan, Shehzad Rafique announced ‘Salute’ at Lahore’s Alhamra Arts Complex, a biopic on the life of Aitzaz Hassan.
Aitzaz Hasan was a school boy from Hangu district in province KPK of Pakistan.
Aitzaz Hasan was a 9th grader at the Ibrahim Zai High School – Hangu.
On the 7th of January 2014, Aitzaz was outside the school gate of Government High School, Ibrahimzai, in Hangu, with two other schoolmates.
Allegedly, at this time a 20-25 year-old man approached the gate and stated he was there to “take admission”.In an attempt to stop the bomber, Aitzaz threw a stone which failed to hit him. Then Aitzaz ran towards the person and grabbed him, prompting the suicide bomber to detonate his explosive-laden vest
Aitzaz died in the hospital. No other students were harmed. Aitzaz’s act saved the lives of hundreds of students.
Aitzaz’s father said that his son made a sacrifice to save the lives of others, “my son made his mother cry but saved hundreds of mothers from crying for their children.”
The legend of Aitezaz will give the STRENGTH to millions of mothers across the nation to have the COURAGE of SACRIFICE…
Salute is not a movie…it is in fact not only a tribute to the martyrs but a message to millions of school going children and their parents that only BELIEF and COURAGE are the weapons against the fear.
